Artist's Voice

In December 2007 I submitted a selection of my artwork to be viewed by the Artist’s Voice Group in an effort to join the group. I was successful in my application. So far I have exhibited in each of the group’s exhibitions, showing between two and five works each time.

“The Artist's Voice was founded in 1997 when a group of local artists met representatives of the Mount Barker Council. The aim of the first meeting was to provide opportunities for artists to share resources and to support each other.

The group's first success came with its involvement with the inaugural Heysen Festival in Hahndorf also in 1997. Since then the group has had a close association with the Hahndorf Academy where it holds regular exhibitions and meetings.

Between six and eight group exhibitions are held each year. Some are thematic while others are linked with recognized events such as SALA, Adelaide Festival of Arts, the Fringe or the Heysen Festival.

Opportunities also exist for members to mount solo or small group exhibitions. Our exhibitions include painting, drawing, sculpture and print making in a variety of media and styles.” From - http://hahndorf.soho.on.net/hahnwiki/TheArtistsVoice

Kapunda Photographic Exhibitio

I exhibited two pictures at the Kapunda Community Gallery’s photographic exhibition again this year. This year’s theme was “The Things I Love, The Things I Fear” It is also a competition and the exhibition opened on April 27, 2008 and closed on May 25. I won the competition with the picture, The Knowing Dark.

These are the pictures I created for the exhibition I had at the Rising Sun Inn in Kensington, which ran for six weeks and closed on October 20, 2007. The exhibition was the same as the Detours exhibition I had at Burra earlier in the year with three larger works created especially for it. I also replaced the Kate's Window series with Kate's Window Series II as the original series soldout.

Six Appeal, Group Exhibition, Feast Festival, Tin Cat Gallery, Kent Town, November 2006

I took part in an exhibition with five other artists at the Tin Cat Gallery in Kent Town in November of 2006. The exhibition was part of the annual Feast Festival and the show featured in the festival catalogue. I displayed five large digital images on canvas plus an additional five framed digital images on photopaper. A series of five framed digital images with watercoloour washes on photorag were also displayed. Each item, apart from the series, was sold as a limited edition print - limited to 10 prints.
